THE BLUE BOOK is a verbal and
visual journey of memory, dream,
senses, of water, feeling, spirit.
In a way it´s also a songbook.
It contains music, not only within
the words and images but also
between the lines; the music of
space vibrating. Waves of sound.
This publication is an ode to the
element of water, to the feminine,
to sensuality and after all also to
poetry.
~~
Sometimes the images are poems,
sometimes the poems are images.
It´s just as fluid as water itself.

Chrischa Venus Oswald (*1984, Germany) is an artist and poet
interested in exploring the human condition.
She has published one book of poetry with her first poems in
Portuguese under the title „SAL ~ SOL ; SOLO“ in 2017.
THE BLUE BOOK is combining visual work created in Portugal
and a selection of Oswald´s English poems that she has
written over several years.
Oswald is currently mainly living and working in Portugal.
You can listen to one of the poems here,
I´m planning to record some poems of the book
so if you buy the book you will receive a link and
can also download some of the spoken versions.<

how to use the book
THE BLUE BOOK is made like a journal and was amongst others inspired
by the idea of the „Pillow Book“, a sort of diary. So I want people to not only
read the poems, flip through the book or keep the book pristine but I want them
to really make it theirs, write down their own notes and inspirations, draw into it,
leave their marks. Each coffee stain or ink blot will „customize“ resp. personalize
for what I created the baseline. It´s meant to be an inspiration and a workbook rather
than something you´d put in a glass case.
